The German producer price indices for beech showed different directions in January 2023. On average, the index for log wood decreased by -0,4% to 139 points. B qualities reached the level of 134,3 points ( -1,3% ), to which 3 m lengths contributed with 0,2% to 121 points – and 5 m lengths with -1,1% to 138,4 .

C qualities in January reached 135,7 points ( -0,7% ) – in 3 m lengths 128,4 ( -1,4% ). 5 m lengths reached 127 points ( 0,2% ).

For oak pulpwood Destatis calculated an index of 114,8 points ( 7,4% ). Pulpwood of beech reached 120 points ( -3,8% ). The hardwood pulpwood index arrived at 119,2 points ( -2,4% ).

Year-on-year the beech indices evolved as follows:

B qualities: 20,2%

B 3 m: 13,9%

B 5 m: 22,0%

C qualities: 34,6%

C 3 m: 28,3%

C 5 m: 34,5%
