Roundwood prices largely stable in Estonia

After the significant price surge registered in April, in May roundwood prices in Estonia have stabilized. Pine sawlogs are cheaper over April by about 0,42 euros/cbm, while spruce, birch and aspen sawlogs are more expensive by a few cents. Pulpwood assorments prices are slightly higher than April within a range of 0,24 euros/cbm and 1,20 euros for pine pulpwood. The price for aspen pulpwood has declined however by 3,76 euros/cbm.

On a yearly basis, all roundwood prices are higher, except birch veneer which is far cheaper than a year ago (almost by -14%), and birch pulpwood which has registered a price decline of almost 6%. For the rest, prices have seriously increased: spruce sawlogs price is more than 11% up; pine sawlogs price surged by 6.55%, and aspen logs price rose by almost 5%. Pine and spruce pulpwood have reached a price increase close to 13%.
